So you have finally been convinced to try hot yoga - and you have no idea how to prepare! Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.
What should I bring?
You should bring a drink bottle, a nonslip yoga mat (ours are great at handling sweaty feet and palms), and a few towels to pat yourself down after / during your session.
What should I wear?
Wearing breathable fabrics is recommended. You don’t want to wear any heavy clothes or anything that sticks to your body.
Is there anything I should avoid?
Try to avoid having a heavy meal and eating within the hour before your class.
Should I check with my doctor?
Hot yoga can be strenuous on the body, so it is important to ask your doctor if you have any concerns about doing hot yoga – especially if you suffer from blood pressure or heart conditions.
Will I sweat?
YES! You will sweat! Handy tip - keep a hand towel within arm’s reach during the class!
Should I arrive early?
It’s a good idea to arrive early so that you can give your body a chance to acclimatize to the hot environment. It will also give you a chance to relax and meet some of the other people in the class.
What if it gets too much?
Monitor yourself for signs of heat exhaustion if you feel you are not coping. There is no shame in excusing yourself if you feel like you are overheating, getting dizzy or feel nauseous.
